Johannesburg - An Ennerdale resident heard the screams of 10-year-old Liam Aspeling as he was abducted from outside his home on Tuesday morning.
"I was watering my garden," said Sophia Maart, who lives on the other side of Vulcan Street. "I screamed for my husband," said Maart.
She said schoolchildren in the road also screamed.
Liam's 21-year-old brother watched as the Grade Four pupil was snatched from his school transport by the occupants of a Honda Civic, registration DWL 094 GP, which pulled up next to the vehicle as he boarded it at 06:40, said Superintendent Maria Mazibuko.
"I saw a man with a small gun. I couldn't see any of the others in the champagne-coloured car because the windows were tinted," said Maart.
She said the Grade Four pupil waited outside his home every day for his lift to the Aloe Ridge Primary School in Walkerville - usually with a relative watching him.
A massive police hunt for the boy is underway in Ennerdale, south of Johannesburg.
