Pretoria - Motorists who are prepared to fork out R600 for a new converted card driver's licence need no longer queue to apply for the sought after card.
Gauteng traffic department administrative director Paul Mmakola said motorists can make an appointment at certain licencing offices for R200.
An appointment on Sunday will cost R400.
The money charged is additional to the R456 for a card-format driver's licence and temporary driver's licence.
Mmakola said the money will go towards additional personnel and equipment.
The Saambou building in Andries Street, will be used in Pretoria for motorists who make appointments. Licensing offices in Vanderbijlpark, Krugersdorp, Springs, Alberton and Kempton Park will also process applications by appointment.
Those not prepared to pay the additional R200 can queue up at other licencing offices.
