Cape Town - The Scorpions have seized the office diaries of the private secretary of former deputy social development Minister David Malatsi.
Malatsi, however, is convinced the diaries will serve to clear his name and implicate others in the donation fund scandal that cost him his job.
Malatsi resigned from his position last month after he and former Western Cape premier Peter Marias were implicated by current premier Marthinus van Schalkwyk as having received donations for the New National Party, totalling R400 000, from Italian businessman Riccardo Agusta.
Maltasi contends he was not unhappy about the turn of events. "The diaries will show exactly who I had meetings with and when."
