Johannesburg - A truck full of suspected stolen property to the value of R250 000 was found abandoned in Thembisa township, north of Johannesburg, on Tuesday, police reported.
Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago said police, acting on a tip-off, found the truck at Ecaleni Section around 15:00.
The consignment seized included five 303 hunting rifles, an R4 automatic rifle, two pistols, a revolver, about 110 rounds of ammunition, blankets and television sets.
Kgasago said about five suspected stolen vehicles were confiscated in other parts of the township.
No one has been arrested and police were following some leads, he said.
