Gunman shoots girl dead

Johannesburg - A 14-year-old girl was shot while playing outside her parents' house in Phiri, Soweto, on Thursday, police reported on Friday.
Captain Mbazima Shiburi said the girl and a nine-year-old boy were playing when they were approached by a man.
While the children were talking to him, a youth arrived and handed the man a firearm.
The man shot the girl in the forehead and ran away.
The girl was taken to the Chris Hani-Baragwanath Hospital where she died.
The man and the youth have been arrested. A firearm and ammunition were found on the man.
Police did not know of any motive and were investigating a charge of murder.
