Nelspruit - The Mpumalanga government was expected to release another batch of matric results initially delayed by fraud allegations on Thursday, the education department said.
Certification authority Umalusi had completed certification of the results of another 1 353 candidates and had handed them over to the province's education department with permission for release to the candidates.
Department spokesperson Thomas Msiza said arrangements for the release to the pupils were being made and these arrangements would be announced in the early afternoon.
The results would available at the pupils' schools.
Umalusi was also deploying a team of subject experts to Mpumalanga to finalise the evaluation of the scripts of pupils whose results were still being held back because of alleged irregularities at 10 examination centres in the province.
They would start work on Friday.
Umalusi has also certified the results of candidates from three of the four additional centres from which exam scripts were not available for the initial investigation.
These are Evander Hoërskool, Emjindini Adult Centre and Nelspruit Private College.
The results attained in one subject at the Eastdene Combined School (in the Witbank school circuit) are still being withheld pending further investigations.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson Superintendent Izak van Zyk said the police investigation into the allegations of fraud were continuing.
