Cape Town - A 22-year-old woman was arrested in Milnerton, Cape Town on Friday afternoon in connection with the murder of a six-month-old baby earlier in the week, police said.
Captain Elliot Sinyangana said the woman was arrested at 17:00 for questioning about the murder in Rondebosch East on Wednesday.
"The investigating officer arrested a 22-year-old woman this afternoon about 17:00 at Milnerton for questioning with regard to the murder of the six-month-old baby," said Sinyangana.
"We are not ready to divulge any further information relating to this matter until the completion of the investigation process.
"The investigation is still intact and progressing extremely well," he said.
Knife-wielding robbers fatally stabbed the child after they conned their way on to the property by posing as delivery men.
Three of the robbers forced a domestic worker and a visitor to the house into a bathroom at knife-point. The fourth robber grabbed the baby girl.
They fled with a locked safe taken from the house.
The domestic worker and visitor later found the baby's body, with a stab wound in her neck, in a bedroom.
