Toddler saved from rape

Johannesburg - The uncle of a Humansdorp toddler is to appear in court on Monday for allegedly trying to rape the child, Eastern Cape police said.
The attempted rape allegedly took place on Friday morning in KwaNomzamo when the mother left the child in the man's care, said spokespersonn Superintendent Priscilla Naidu on Sunday.
"The suspect's sister came home and found the child and her brother in the bedroom. Both the child's and adult's pants had been removed.
"The uncle had promised to give the child some sweets and chips."
The toddler was taken to a local hospital where it was established that she had not been raped. The man was arrested.
