Rustenburg - A consignment of suspected stolen car parts worth between R2m and R3m was seized in a North West village on Sunday thanks to a tip-off the police received from a member of the public, police said.
The parts, mostly starters and alternators, were found in boxes at a property in Moboloka Village near Brits.
After receiving information from a member of the community, police from the crime prevention unit went to the village early on Sunday morning and found a number of boxes with the Bosch logo imprinted on them.
Inspector Tyron Seate for police said the value of the goods could be as high as R3m.
He said investigators were looking into the possibility that the same people responsible for allegedly stealing these goods, could be linked to another case a short while ago in which car parts were also stolen.
Seate said the police were very close to solving the case and hoped for arrests soon.
