Johannesburg - Five people who had allegedly stolen phone cards and cash during an armed robbery in Thembisa over the weekend have been arrested, North Rand police said on Monday.
The robbers allegedly threatened people in a business in Tlamatlama Section on Saturday and made off with pre-paid Vodacom, Telkom and MTN cards as well as R22 000 in cash, Superintendent Eugene Opperman said.
An eye witness alerted a passing police patrol van and the five were later arrested in nearby Sedibeng and will appear in the Kempton Park magistrate's court.
