'Thieves' die in car chase

Johannesburg - Two alleged car thieves were on Sunday killed in a high-speed car chase with police in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape police said.
Spokesperson Inspector Hazel Mqala said on Monday that the men collided with a pole in Kempston road in Sydenham, Port Elizabeth.
"Police were chasing a stolen vehicle when a car driven by the two [suspects] collided with an electric pole. One of the men died on the road and the other one was taken to the Dora Nginza hospital in Port Elizabeth were he died later," Mqala said.
She could however not specify when the vehicle was reported stolen, saying police were still investigating.
