Johannesburg - A man has confessed to the murder of a Stormsriver woman, Uitenhage police said on Monday.
The woman, Magrieta Wentzel, was found dead in her home in Nompumelelo village early on Monday morning. A 27-year-old man was taken in for questioning.
According to Inspector Gerda Swart, he has already confessed to the murder.
"They were in a relationship, he was her boyfriend," said Swart.
Police were continuing to question the man as to the motivation for the killing.
Though a post-mortem had yet to be complete, Swart said it was believed that Wentzel was struck on the back of the head with a plank.
The man will appear in court in Stormsriver on Tuesday.
