Johannesburg - Provincial health authorities have confirmed that a man was being treated for the potentially deadly Congo fever at Durban's Addington Hospital, the Sunday Tribune has reported.
A 34-year-old farmer from Kimberley was admitted to the hospital in Durban on Saturday. The Department of Health said the man was transferred from St Augustine's Hospital after showing symptoms of Congo fever.
Blood samples had confirmed the disease, the Tribune said.
He is being kept in isolation and his condition was being closely monitored.
The man was on holiday in Margate on the South Coast when he fell ill.
