Scottsburgh - A 19-year-old student from Pretoria was fined R20 000 for speeding on Thursday by a Scottburgh magistrate after he was trapped at a speed of 196km/h in a 120 km/h zone.
Nicholas Coetzee said his father will be paying the fine for him, and he will have to figure out a way to pay him back.
RTI spokesperson Rajen Chinaboo said Coetzee told officers he was trying out
his mother's new car, a BMW 320d.
Coetzee was the fastest recorded speedster the RTI has managed to stop this
festive season.
