Johannesburg - Firefighters are battling a blaze near the upper Steenbras Dam in the Western Cape on Thursday, Cape Town Fires said.
Spokesperson Winston Davids said firefighters had been trying to contain the fire since Thursday morning, but windy conditions were hampering their efforts.
"It's windy this side, so that does hamper efforts to fight the fire. We've dispatched a total of eight trucks," said Davids.
He said a helicopter was still flying over Grabouw after the flames fanned over the peaks.
"So far there has been no injuries or damage to property."
Thousands of hectares of fynbos and plantations have been destroyed by mountain fires in the Western Cape over the past few weeks.
