Robber dies in break-in drama

Johannesburg - A robber was shot dead in a house in Sinoville, Pretoria, early on Sunday after he and an accomplice broke through the roof, said police.
Superintendent Paul Ramaloko said the armed men held up Len Parkin's teenage son at 03:00 and demanded to know where his parents were sleeping.
The son, who police have not named, took them to the main bedroom, where they opened fire on Parkin, wounding him in his chest.
They also wounded another of his sons, Norman, when he went to investigate what was gong on.
Parkin had meanwhile got hold of his handgun and opened fire on the gunmen.
One of his assailants was fatally wounded. The second intruder escaped.
Police had recovered a handgun, said Ramaloko.
