Johannesburg - Two men are to go on trial in the Delmas circuit court on Monday, charged with raping several women and children in the North Mead, Benoni area between March 2001 and July 2002.
Police Superintendent Eugene Opperman said the men are alleged to have broken into the homes of women living alone or living with their daughters in the early hours of the morning, usually raping them before fleeing with stolen goods.
After investigations which identified their modus operandi, two men were arrested in separate incidents in Benoni and Dennilton, Mpumalanga, in July and August 2002.
