KwaZulu-Natal - A mob of vigilantes killed a man they accused of gate-crashing a wedding in Hlabisa, KwaZulu-Natal over the weekend, police said on Sunday.
Hlakaniphani Ziqubu, 21, and his brother Sithembiso, were attacked by 12 men as they headed home from the wedding at the Hlabisa homestead in the Machibini area, Superintendent Jay Naicker said.
They had earlier been told that they were not welcome at the wedding, but were not told why.
As the brothers walked home, the group caught Hlakaniphani, assaulted him and stabbed him. He died later in hospital, Naicker said.
His brother Sithembiso got away, running home where he was helped.
A murder case was being probed by KwaMsane police, Naicker said.
