Cape Town - Two men were arrested on Friday in connection with a cash-in-transit heist in Mossel Bay, Western Cape police said.
Police Captain Malcolm Pojie said a Coin security guard was attacked by three men after he had parked in front of a First Nation Bank in George Street, Mossel Bay, to load money boxes.
"One man disarmed the guard and held him at gunpoint while the other two were taking the cash boxes," he said.
The men fled in a white bakkie which was recovered an hour later parked in Louis Fourie Road, with the guard's firearm inside.
"We arrested the two suspects in Highway Park after a tip-off from the community," Pojie said.
The two, both aged 46, would be charged with armed robbery. They were expected to appear in court on Monday.
Pojie said they were offering a reward to anybody with information that could lead to the arrest of the third suspect.
