JHB cop gunned down

Johannesburg - A policeman was shot dead in a shootout between police and an armed gang in Main Street, Jeppestown, Johannesburg, on Sunday.
Spokesperson sergeant Sanku Tsunke said police followed the gang from an armed robbery in Honeydew. About 20 "heavily armed men" went into a building.
A shootout ensued between police and the men and one policeman was shot dead.
Tsunke said two policemen where still inside, possibly hiding from the gunmen.
Police could not approach the building as the gang were shooting at them.
