Man dies collecting mussels

Johannesburg - A man drowned on Saturday while he was collecting mussels on a pier off one of Durban's main beaches, police said on Sunday.

Gerald Mews, 40, appeared to have slipped and fallen into the sea off Snake Park beach, police spokesperson Thembeka Luthuli said in a statement. An inquest docket had been opened.
