East London - Robbers fled with cell phones, cash, jewellery and personal belongings when they held up 23 students at gunpoint in East London on Monday, Eastern Cape police said on Tuesday.
Captain Michelle Matroos said four men entered the students residence in College Street, North End shortly after 19:00.
They told the students, from the Border Technical College, to remain calm and threatened to shoot them if they did not co-operate.
The men searched the students bags and their pockets and fled the scene.
Matroos said one of the students, Malisa Ngesi, 20, suffered bruises to her right arm when she was pushed during the robbery.
