Johannesbrg - Cocaine worth an estimated R55m was seized at Johannesburg International Airport, police said on Wednesday.
A 34-year-old Nigerian man was arrested for the smuggling, at his home in Randpark Ridge in Randburg on Tuesday night, superintendent Vishnu Naidoo said.
"The drugs arrived here yesterday (Tuesday) morning at 09:00."
He said "hundreds of thousands of rands in cash was also seized" from the man's home. Police were not expecting to make further arrests.
The drugs were imported from South America about a week ago.
A joint operation between the police's crime intelligence and anti-smuggling departments, and detectives, resulted in the drug bust and arrest.
In the past seven months, an estimated total of R130m worth of drugs has been seized from Johannesburg International Airport, Naidoo said.
