Disabled girl, 13, raped

Johannesburg - A 13-year-old mentally disabled girl was among five women raped, while two others were murdered in separate incidents over the Christmas period, said Free State police on Wednesday.
Superintendent Motsantsi Makhele said: "The 13-year-old and her sister were visiting relatives on Christmas Day.
A male relative took her to visit an aunt. When the sister went to look for her at the aunt's home she found the girl undressed, and the suspect left with only his trousers."
Police arrested the relative and a second man who was in the house at the time. They would be appearing in Ficksburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
A 15-year-old girl from Mokwena, near Thaba-Nchu, a 20-year-old from Frankort, Namahadi, a 23-year-old from Manayatseng near Ladybrand and a 51-year-old from Hoopstad, were raped on Christmas Eve.
On Christmas day, a woman from Boshof was murdered by her husband who hit her with a walking stick during an argument. The wife fell over unconscious and later died. The man handed himself to Boshof police. He would appear in Boshof Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
On Wednesday, a 16-year-old girl was found with her throat slit in the yard of a man in Mangaung. The man reported the incident to police. No arrests had been made.
