Johannesburg - An alleged serial rapist, wanted on at least 15 counts, will appear in the Sebokeng magistrate's court on May 26, Vaal Rand police said.
The 34-year-old man was arrested at the Vereeniging taxi rank earlier this month following an appeal by police in a local newspaper, Superintendent Nthabiseng Mazibuko said on Friday.
He made his first court appearance on April 18 and will remain in custody.
"Currently in the Vaal Rand we have five cases against him, in Soweto eight cases, on the West Rand one and in Ga-Rankuwa one," she said.
He was from Petrus Steyn, in the Free State.
Mazibuko said police found names and telephone numbers of several women in his pocket when they arrested him, which led them to one of his alleged victims.
