Middelburg - Two former cops and a police reservist who set up a security firm are accused of stealing toilet paper and bicycles from their old police station to stock their new office.
The three set up a security firm in Belfast, allegedly furnishing it with equipment and furniture from the Belfast police station.
Former police inspectors Michael Norval, 38, his wife, Amanda, 36, and police reservist and cleaner Aaron Ntimane, 51, have appeared in Middelburg magistrate's court.
They were not asked to plead to charges ranging from fraud to theft, corruption, possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition and suspected stolen property.
The three resigned from Belfast police station in 2002 to become shareholders in the Simunye Security Company in Belfast.
Last Wednesday, police raided their offices and seized alleged state equipment including toilet rolls, handcuffs, weapons, ammunitions, a computer, police jacket, bullet-proof vests, finger-printing equipment, a cash register, teargas, a cupboard, fax paper, bicycles, torches and a generator.
The three are out on R5 000 bail each on condition that they do not go near Belfast police station.
The case was postponed to July 25 for further investigation.
