Two held for kidnapping woman

Johannesburg - Two men have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a 19-year-old woman in Ivory Park, Tembisa, police said on Wednesday.
Spokesperson Lesiba Manamela said five armed men accosted Shilla Upingo and her boyfriend Joseph Matola on Monday night, while they were asleep.
"They held them at gunpoint demanding money. An undisclosed amount of money was taken and the two were pistol-whipped in the veld near Winnie Mandela informal settlement where Matola was shot in the hand."
Matola managed to run away and went to the police to report the matter.
On Tuesday two suspects were arrested. The pair, aged 23 and 24, were due to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate's Court on charges of house robbery and kidnapping.
The other three believed to be illegal immigrants were still at large.
Ivory Park station commissioner, Director Vincent Leshabane, said : "We have used sniffer dogs and choppers in the area since the early hours of Tuesday. We are continuing to use every available resource to locate the woman and arrest the suspects."
