Cops suspended over rape

Johannesburg - Two policemen who allegedly raped a woman in the holding cells of the Upington police station have been suspended, SABC radio news reported on Friday.

The policemen allegedly raped a 43-year-old woman who was arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour last Friday.

Both were charged with rape.

The Independent Complaints Directorate was investigating the incident, SABC reported.
