Cape Town hotel gutted by fire

Cape Town - A number of guests were evacuated from the Southern Lodge in Southfield in Plumstead, Cape Town, after a fire gutted the top storey of the hotel, SABC news reported on Thursday.
Fire brigade spokesperson Ignatius Smart said no one was injured in the blaze on the third floor.
He said several fire engines and rescue vehicles were sent to the hotel.
Personnel have been damping down the affected area.
Smart said the cause of the fire was not known and the incident would be investigated.
