Johannesburg - A 55-year-old man was hijacked by two of his friends in Daveyton on Thursday, Ekurhuleni metro police said.
Captain Alfred Nakana said the three men were drinking in a tavern in Daveyton into the early hours of Thursday.
The two men then asked the 55-year-old to take them home. On the way to their house one of the men pulled out a gun and forced the 55-year-old to get out.
The two men made off with his white Volkswagen Polo and his cellphone.
The car was found abandoned in the streets of Gabon informal settlement later on Thursday morning, said Nakana.
Police were investigating a case of hijacking.
No arrests have been made.
