Johannesburg - A 25-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were arrested after they and two others allegedly robbed a Total garage in Elsburg near Germiston on Sunday night, East Rand police reported on Monday.
Sergeant Prudence Mvelase said three men and a woman stormed a Total garage convenience store at midnight.
One of the men, armed with a firearm, held up a staff member at gunpoint and ordered him to open the cash register. They stole cigarettes and groceries and fled.
The staff member alerted the police.
Later police spotted a woman and a man behaving in a suspicious manner, searched them and found cigarettes, groceries and an empty holster. They arrested them.
The cash stolen was not recovered.
At least two of the robbers were still at large, Mvelase said.
The woman and the man are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
