Cape Town - Five teenage boys were arrested in Mossel Bay following the murder of a teenager on Saturday at D'Almeida, Western Cape police said on Sunday.
Spokesperson Ntobeko Mangqwengqwe said the suspects were arrested on Sunday morning.
"They were arrested at their homes after swift follow-up action by the police to locate them," Mangqwengqwe said.
He said the five youths aged between 15 and 17 were positively linked to the murder.
The body of Reduwan Juman was found in an open field near Mossel Street in D'Almeida with wounds to the head on Saturday evening.
Mangqwengqwe said police suspected the wounds were inflicted by a blunt object.
"It appeared during the preliminary investigation that the deceased had an argument with the suspects and they allegedly assaulted him using stones," he said.
He said Juman was not known to the suspects.
The teenagers will appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on Monday.
