Piet Retief - A 35-year-old Mpumalanga woman who stole money entrusted to her for investment has had her assets seized, provincial police commissioner Eric Nkabinde said on Wednesday.
He said in a statement that Baby Witness Kunene of Piet Retief preyed on elderly or illiterate people. She was convicted on three counts of theft involving an amount of R300 000.
It was hoped Kunene's victims would benefit from the seizure of her assets, Nkabinde said.
Kunene received a 12-year prison term after being convicted in the Piet Retief magistrate's court.
