Johannesburg - Deputy president Jacob Zuma, who returned from Tanzania on Wednesday after attending talks between the Burundi transitional government and the main Hutu rebel movement, has declined to comment on the Scorpions investigation into bribery allegations.
SABC radio news reported on Thursday that Zuma expressed satisfaction with the progress made in the Burundi talks, but refused to talk about the Scorpions issue.
The unit is investigating allegations that Zuma solicited a R500 000 bribe from a company involved in the country's multi-billion rand arms deal.
The deputy president has been asked by the Scorpions to reply to 35 questions, that also cover his relationship with businessman Schabir Shaik, who holds interests in firms linked to the arms deal.
Zuma has expressed his anger that the questions were leaked to the media.
