Johannesburg - The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) has laid a criminal complaint against "Don't Panic TV" for illegal subscription broadcasting.
Icasa spokesperson Vimla Maistry on Wednesday said in a statement the charge was laid in Centurion at the Lyttelton police station and would be transferred to the Wierdabrug police station for further investigation.
"Icasa will act against any person operating without a broadcasting licence or the necessary legal permission to broadcast.
"Don't Panic TV has not received a broadcasting licence or the necessary permission from the Authority to continue broadcasting," she said.
Maistry said the channel broadcast adult movies.
