Bloemfontein - The case against the wife of murdered senior Free State official Noby Ngombane and four other family members was postponed to December in the Bloemfontein magistrate's court on Monday.
Ngombane's wife Nokwanda, her brother and sister, Bongani and Thanthiswa, and two cousins Vuyokasi Mlambo and Sephumle Booi, appeared in court after the matter was earlier postponed to give the State time to bring a proper remand application.
They all face charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice in connection with Ngombane's murder.
However, no formal charges have been laid.
Magistrate LP Moeng postponed the matter to December 15 for further investigation after hearing arguments from the State on reasons for a further delay.
Moeng earlier postponed the matter to Monday after expressing his disappointment with how the State had handled the matter thus far.
Nokwanda's defence had opposed a further postponement without the State giving "proper reasons".
Ngombane, a senior official in premier Beatrice Marshoff's office, was murdered at his Hillsboro home on March 22.
At his funeral, Nokwanda said the motive for the murder was political.
