Johannesburg - A demonstration is planned on Tuesday against an East Rand man, accused of raping an HIV-positive six-year-old orphan girl, receiving bail.
The Angel of Mercy organisation - which cares for HIV/Aids patients said - they would demonstrate outside the Vosloorus magistrate's court on Tuesday.
The accused is facing a charge of raping a minor. He was arrested soon after the rape incident was reported in January this year.
When he briefly appeared for the first time he was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody.
The Angel of Mercy organisation said the orphaned girl's mother died of the same disease two years ago. The girl's 25-year-old aunt alleged the girl had been raped twice by the same man. The first incident happened last year but the girl did not speak about it for some time.
In January this year the girl complained of severe pain in her private parts and when examined by the district surgeon it was discovered she had been penetrated more than once.
The aunt reported the matter to the police who then arrested the man. According to reports the man is known to the family.
