Johannesburg - A 30-year-old man will appear in the Kempton Park magistrate's court on Monday in connection with a botched armed robbery at Johannesburg International Airport in September.
The Reiger Park resident would face four counts of attempted murder and armed robbery, said Superintendent Eugene Opperman.
Police were searching for two men they believe could help them in their investigations. They have requested anyone who knows the whereabouts of George Maswanganyi, 36, and a man in his 30's only known as "Cha" or "Charly" to call Crime Stop on 08600-10111.
A policeman patrolling the airport perimeter was shot and wounded in the chest on September 15 by a group of armed men in a car.
The policeman was shot after requesting identification from a suspicious-looking man.
The next evening three policemen were wounded during a shootout with five armed men.
The police were escorting a cargo of gold and diamonds on an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight.
The robbers fled empty-handed.
The four policemen had all recovered from their injuries, Opperman said.
