Pretoria - Senior SABC managers have asked President Thabo Mbeki to remove the SABC Board by Friday.
Sipho Sithole, the SABC's head of group management and strategy, handed a letter containing the demand to the Presidency's Thabang Chiloane at the Union Buildings on Tuesday.
"We are concerned as management that this Board is not fit, so this Board must go," he said.
According to Sithole, more than a hundred people, including the management and other senior personnel at the national broadcaster, supported the call for the Board's removal.
If Mbeki could not sack the Board by Friday the corporation's management wanted a meeting with him to explain their case further, said Sithole.
The group is also asking for the reinstatement of SABC Group CEO, Dali Mpofu.
