Johannesburg - A 39-year-old gardener was discharged from hospital on Sunday following an assault by a client when he and a friend went to collect money in Westonaria after rendering garden services, West Rand police said.
Captain Paula Nothnagel said the client allegedly became angry and starting assaulting Isaac Modise and his friend, known only as Sylvester, when they arrived at his home on Saturday.
Sylvester escaped unhurt, leaving Modise behind.
Modise later managed to escape and reported the matter to the Westonaria police who called an ambulance for him.
He sustained head and body injuries.
The attacker was not arrested.
