Robbers kill man, assault wife

Tzaneen - A 35-year-old man was shot dead and his wife seriously assaulted by robbers at Maake outside Tzaneen early on Thursday, said Limpopo police.
Captain Moatshe Ngoepe said the couple were confronted by three armed men about 03:00. The men started assaulting them.
The man was shot and killed.
His wife was admitted to hospital in a serious, but stable, condition.
The man's firearm and the couple's two cellphones were stolen.
The dead man's name has not been released as his next-of-kin have not yet been informed.
Ngoepe said a man has been arrested in connection with the incident after police received information a tip-off.
At least two of the robbers are still at large.
