Kimberley - Northern Cape police launched a manhunt on Tuesday after a 75-year-old farmer was found dead at his farm between Warrenton and Jan Kempdorp.
Police spokesperson Captain Tony Modise said police were looking for an unknown number of attackers who apparently fled with the farmer's bakkie, a white Mitsubishi Colt with registration number BRJ982NC.
"An employee found the farmer's body at 07:00 in the house," said Modise.
"It's alleged they also stole furniture from the scene," a police statement said earlier.
Police urged any person who may have seen the vehicle to contact the nearest police station and not to approach the suspects.
The public can also contact the investigating officer Captain Johan van den Heever on 082-495-4739 or at the Warrenton police station.
