Storm water claims child

Bloemfontein - The body of a two-year-old toddler was discovered by police after it had drowned in Lourier Park, near Bloemfontein, on Monday, Free State police said.

Captain Ernest Mayiki said the toddler was playing with another child near a pool of storm water. The toddler was left on his own, and apparently fell into the water.

A Lourier Park resident took the body out of the water, but the child had already drowned.

The name of the toddler has not been released as his next of kin have not been informed of his death.
