Ambulance crash: Patient dies

Bloemfontein - A man who had been involved in an accident died when an ambulance taking him to hospital overturned on the N1 between Bloemfontein and Winburg near Verkeerdevlei on Tuesday, Free State police said.

Captain Ernest Mayiki said the ambulance driver apparently lost control of the vehicle.

The patient died instantly and his wife was seriously injured.

The ambulance driver and a medical assistant had minor injuries.
