Durban - A 24-year-old man from Margate is receiving counselling after he was sodomised by robbers during a burglary.
According to a source, the man had been entertaining friends at his house shortly before the incident.
After his friends left, he was apparently overpowered by three men outside his house. They forced him inside and tied him up.
The men stole several items from the house and wrapped the man in blankets. He was then sodomised by one of the robbers.
The man suffered several cut wounds, presumably caused by a knife.
The victim's upset father said last week that his son was terribly shocked and traumatised. He was receiving counselling and was not prepared to talk to the media. Police spokesperson captain Vincent Pandarum confirmed the incident but could not release more information.
He only said police were on the verge of making a breakthrough and nabbing the robbers.
