FW undergoes tumour surgery

Cape Town - Former President FW de Klerk has undergone surgery for the removal of a tumour in the upper part of his colon.
The FW de Klerk Foundation said in a statement: "The operation was a success and there were no signs that the tumour had spread.
"Mr De Klerk is recuperating in the intensive care unit of the Medi-Clinic."
The statement said doctors had said the prognosis was good.
"Mr De Klerk has cancelled all his engagements for the next month to allow himself time to recuperate."
The surgery took place at the Panorama Medi-Clinic in Cape Town.
