Johannesburg - The two-time world champion high-jumper Hestrie Cloete, who is married to Jurie Els, is pregnant with her second child, a boy.
A good friend confirmed the news with Beeld on Thursday.
Hestrie, who has won two silver medals at the Olympic Games, is about six months pregnant.
She and her husband, singer Jurie Els, have temporarily relocated to New Zealand.
Shortly afterwards, a storm erupted over Jurie Els's head over allegations of "sexual misconduct" against him by the singer Robbie Klay.
The friend, who wishes to remain anonymous, says "Hestrie is doing well".
'Furious'
According to the friend, the former world champion is "furious about the lies about Jurie and the fact that certain people immediately decided that Jurie was guilty without him having been accused, prosecuted or found guilty".
On advice of Els's legal team, the Els couple are at present not talking to the media and are maintaining a low profile in New Zealand.
The former Princess of Coligny - as Hestrie was known at one stage - and Jurie are both very excited about the arrival of their son, according to the friend.
The couple already have a baby girl, 19-month-old Chrizette.
The Els couple have not yet decided on a name for their son and were "still looking around" for a suitable name, according to the friend.
Their son will be born in New Zealand.
Before departing from South Africa, Hestrie said she was going to write her autobiography in New Zealand.
