Cape power supply normal again

Johannesburg - Koeberg Power Station and the high voltage transmission network to the Western Cape performed well over the weekend, Eskom said on Sunday.
"Unit Two of Koeberg Power Station is generating at full capacity," said spokesperson Fani Zulu.
"From last week Friday, Eskom has been monitoring the performance of Koeberg Unit Two and the high voltage transmission network to the Cape.
"Both Koeberg Unit 2 and the transmission grid have stabilised and have been performing well over the past weekend."
He said that power supply to the province had become normal again on Thursday afternoon.
Last Sunday the entire province was without power and intermittent supplies have been kept going through supplies from the north of the country.
To prevent an overload authorities have been rotating power interruptions, a practice called load shedding.
"At 18:28 (Thursday), all load shedding in the Western Cape stopped.
"
From that point onwards, Eskom had sufficient capacity available in the Western Cape network to meet the electricity demand for the region.
"There may have been a few areas where power was restored later than 18:28."
