Johannesburg - Two armed hijackers held up a woman, 76, in Germiston on Thursday and fled with her car, cash, cellphones and a hearing aid, police said on Friday.
The woman, who asked not to be named, arrived at her home in
Northridge Road, Primrose, about 14:15 to find two armed men
there, said Superintendent Andy Pieke.
"They threatened her and forced her out of her car when she got
back from shopping in Boksburg," he said. "The men fled in the car and a white sedan driven by accomplices."
Pieke described the woman's car as a white Toyota Corolla, with
the registration SKN 188 GP.
"She told police that there was R1 000 cash in the car, two
cellphones and her hearing aid."
He said the East Rand hijacking task team was investigating but
no arrests had been made.
