Johannesburg - National Police Commissioner Jackie Selebi was charged in the Randburg Regional Court on Friday on three counts of corruption and one of defeating the ends of justice.
He also faced an alternate charge of receiving an unauthorised gratification "by a person who is party to an employment relation".
Selebi was not asked to plead, but his lawyer Jaap Cilliers said he intended pleading not guilty.
The case was postponed to June 26.
